is the best domain name I could think of. Someone already had animus.com/org/net ages ago and I didn't really want to use my name.
nocommercialpotential
is my long-considered and generous appraisal of the things I am compelled to make. It's an inescapable fact that nothing I really enjoy doing is ever likely to make me a living. Maybe not even web design.
nocommercialpotential
is an acknowledgement that the best parts of the web are those that will *never* make money and aren't designed to. The things that exist because people love the web and feel like making their corner of it beautiful, or at least interesting. While we enjoy our economic downturn, why not use the opportunity to take back the web for cranks, freaks and loonies as the good lord intended?
is an oblique reference to Frank Zappa's description of his song(s) 'Help, I'm a Rock/It Can't Happen Here' in the liner notes of his album 'Freak Out!'. Go listen to it. If only this site could possess the merest fraction of that kind of lack of commercial potential.

terms of use :: If you see something here you like, use it. If you don't change it or re-purpose it in some creative way, you can give me some credit for it. If you make something entirely new and amazing, tell me and I will kiss you. You can steal things outright and pretend they are yours, but you, I and Baby Jesus will know better.

realizes that the following will not do anything to alleviate world hunger, stop racism, give you sexier abs or raise Dubya's I.Q. by a fraction of a point. Still, as I've already thrown my lot in with the search for art and truth, I see no reason not to endorse a few other trivialities.

Furthermore, let the following serve as incontrovertible proof that I, despite the deeply held beliefs of anyone who knew me in seventh grade, am cool.
You ask me, my brother, when will man reach perfection. Hear my answer:
Man approaches perfection when he feels that he is an infinite space and a sea without
a shore, An everlasting fire, an unquenchable light. A calm wind or a raging
tempest, a thundering sky or a rainy heaven, A singing brook or a wailing rivulet, a
tree abloom in spring, or a naked sapling in Autumn, A rising mountain or a
descending alley, a fertile plain or a dessert.
When man feels all of these, he has already reached halfway to perfection.
To attain his goal he must then percieve that he is a child dependent upon his mother,
a father responsible for his family, A youth lost in love , An ancient wrestling
against his past, A worshipper in his temple, A criminal in his prison, A scholar
amidst his parchments, An ignorant soul stumbling between the darkness of his
night and the obscurity of his day, A nun suffering between the flowers of her faith
and the thistles of her lonliness, A prostitute caught between the fangs of her
weakness and the claws of her needs, A poor man trapped between the bitterness and
his submission, A rich man between his greed and his conscience, a poet between the
mist of his twilight and the rays if his dawn.
Who can experience, see, and understand these things can reach perfection and become
a shadow or Gods Shadow.
